Claims from Russian-held areas

Separately, authorities of the Luhansk People's Republic said a Ukrainian shelling attack had killed seven civilians, including three children, in the town of Krasnorichenske.
The preceding day
The day before, on 18 September 2022, Russian forces shelled a psychiatric hospital in Strelechya, in Kharkiv Oblast. Four medics were killed and two patients injured.
On the same date, Ukraine withdrew its 250 troops from the United Nations peacekeeping force MONUSCO in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A Ukrainian Air Force aviation unit also pulled out its eight helicopters, which made up a third of the UN's fleet in the mission.
