Two pipelines, two rulings on 11 July 2022

Summary
A Russian court spared the CPC oil route from suspension as Nord Stream 1 began scheduled maintenance.
What happened to two of the region's major energy arteries on 11 July 2022? Both were in the news, and they moved in different directions.
In Russia, a court lifted the suspension that had been imposed on the CPC pipeline. It fined the operators 200,000 rubles ($3,300) for oil spills instead. The pipeline is one of the world's largest and carries nearly all of Kazakhstan's oil exports, which represent about 1% of global oil supply.
On the same day, the Nord Stream 1 natural gas pipeline from Russia to Germany was suspended for the first of ten days of scheduled annual maintenance.
So one route, the CPC, stayed open after the court dropped the suspension and imposed a fine. The other, Nord Stream 1, went offline under a maintenance schedule that ran for ten days.
