What did Ukraine's air defence gain by 8 November 2022?

Summary
A look back at a first NASAMS delivery and Poland's plan for a Kaliningrad border barrier, reported in the days before 8 November 2022.
What had changed for Ukraine's air defences and for security along Poland's border by 8 November 2022? Reports from the preceding days pointed to two developments.
On 7 November 2022, Ukraine confirmed that it had received the first delivery of the NASAMS surface-to-air missile system. Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov said the system would significantly strengthen Ukraine's armed forces. The delivery was part of foreign aid to Ukraine during the war that followed Russia's 2022 invasion.
Further west, on 2 November 2022, Poland's Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced the construction of a barrier along the border with the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. Poland believed that Russia would use the border to transport African and Asian immigrants illegally into Europe.
The two announcements were separate, but both concerned the defence and security of countries bordering Russia or facing its forces: one involved weapons reaching Ukraine, the other a planned physical barrier on Poland's frontier.
