Zaporizhzhia strike and Finland's NATO vote

Summary
A look back at a day of civilian loss in southern Ukraine and of a parliamentary step towards NATO membership in Helsinki.
What did the war look like on 2 March 2023? In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian missile struck an apartment building. Ukrainian police said the attack killed three civilians and injured at least four others.
The strike was one of the attacks on civilians recorded during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. A residential block, not a military site, was the target reported by police.
A vote in Helsinki
The previous day, 1 March 2023, the Finnish Parliament had voted 184–7 to formally approve the country's accession to NATO. It also adopted the alliance's founding documents.
The vote did not complete Finland's path into the alliance. As reported at the time, Hungary and Turkey had yet to approve Finland's membership.
Taken together, the two items show the security picture on those two days: continued missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, and a decisive parliamentary majority in Finland for joining NATO, with approval from two member states still pending.
