Russian strikes hit Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions

Summary
A look back at the attacks on civilians reported in Ukraine on 4 July 2023, and the events of the day before.
What did Russian attacks cost Ukrainian civilians on 4 July 2023? According to Ukrainian officials, missiles hit Pervomaiskyi in Kharkiv Oblast, injuring at least 38 civilians and damaging infrastructure.
Elsewhere, Russian shelling of Kherson killed two people. Three more people were injured by Russian shelling in Chernihiv.
The day before: Sumy and a sanctions listing
The attacks followed a drone strike on Sumy on 3 July 2023, which killed two people and injured 19 others. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for a major upgrade of anti-aircraft defences.
On the same day, Ukraine's National Agency on Corruption Prevention added the British conglomerate Unilever to its list of "international sponsors of war". The agency claimed that Unilever's Russian operations indirectly fund the invasion.
What the reports showed
Taken together, the reports from 3 and 4 July 2023 describe strikes across several parts of Ukraine: Sumy, Kharkiv Oblast, Kherson and Chernihiv. Casualties were reported in each, and in Pervomaiskyi infrastructure was damaged as well.
