What did NATO's Wiesbaden command change for Kyiv?

Summary
A look back at the new NATO coordination centre in Germany and a Russian strike on a Kharkiv Oblast village.
What did NATO set up for Ukraine on 15 July 2024? It established a new command centre in Wiesbaden, Germany, to plan and coordinate support for the Ukrainian military as part of the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine.
The centre placed planning and coordination of that support in a single dedicated structure. It was an institutional step in Ukraine–NATO relations, taken during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The war continued to claim civilian lives in the meantime. On 13 July 2024, two days before the Wiesbaden announcement, a Russian double tap strike hit the village of Budy in Kharkiv Oblast. Two people were killed and twenty-five were injured, including two children.
Taken together, the two events showed two sides of the conflict as of 15 July 2024: allied efforts to organise military support and training from Germany, and continuing attacks on settlements in Ukraine's north-east.
