What did Zelenskyy claim about North Korean troops?

Summary
A look back at claims and a migration request that framed regional politics in mid-October 2024.
What was being said about foreign involvement in the war and about migration at the EU's eastern border as of 15 October 2024? Two reports from the preceding days set the tone.
On 13 October 2024, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that North Korean troops had been deployed to Ukraine to fight alongside the Russian military. The claim, as reported at the time, pointed to foreign involvement in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
A day earlier, on 12 October 2024, Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk asked the European Union to accept a provisional suspension of migrants' right to asylum, in order to control irregular immigration from Belarus. The request followed Germany's tightening of border controls and a call by its Interior Minister Nancy Faeser for EU-wide solutions. Human rights activists condemned the proposal as unconstitutional.
The two items are separate, but both concerned pressures on Ukraine's wider neighbourhood: one on the battlefield, the other on the border between Belarus and the EU.
