What did the final days of June 2025 bring?

Summary

A look back at two Russian strikes that hit Ukrainian cities in the last week of June 2025.

What did Ukraine's last full week of June 2025 look like from the air? By 30 June 2025, the country was absorbing the aftermath of two heavy Russian attacks, days apart.

On 24 June, Russian forces fired an Iskander missile at Dnipro. At least 19 people were killed and 300 others injured. The same day, an air attack on Samar, in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killed two civilians and injured nine.

The pressure did not ease. On 29 June, Russian forces launched more than 500 drones and missiles at Ukraine, targeting critical infrastructure. At least 12 people were injured. Ukraine said it was the largest Russian air attack on the country since the start of the war.

Taken together, the reports from 24 and 29 June show strikes on both a major city and infrastructure, with civilians bearing the casualties. Those were the circumstances on 30 June 2025.
