Kyiv sends drone experts to Denmark

Summary

A retrospective on 30 September 2025, when Ukraine dispatched a military mission to Denmark and completed its EU legislative screening.

What did Ukraine have to offer its European partners, and how far had it come towards joining them? On 30 September 2025, two developments gave part of the answer.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy deployed a military mission to Denmark to share Ukraine's expertise in countering Russian drones. The deployment followed the 2025 Danish drone incidents. It came as European countries planned a joint "drone wall" project to strengthen airspace defence.

The same day, Ukraine completed the screening of its legislation against the acquis communautaire, the body of EU law, as part of the process of accession to the European Union.

Together, the two items showed Ukraine acting on two fronts on 30 September 2025: contributing practical defence experience to a European country, and finishing a formal step on the path to EU membership.
