What did Ukraine receive from the US in April 2018?

Summary

A look back at the Javelin delivery confirmed at the end of April 2018, as reported at the time.

What had Ukraine just received from Washington as of 2 May 2018? The answer, as reported at the time, was a consignment of Javelin anti-tank missile systems.

On 30 April 2018, Ukrainian reports said the country had received FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile systems from the United States. The same day, the U.S. State Department confirmed that the United States had completed a delivery of the systems to Ukraine.

The confirmation placed the delivery within the wider bilateral relationship between Kyiv and Washington. The reports from 30 April 2018 described the transfer as finished, rather than pending, and the State Department's confirmation was the clearest official marker of that.

By 2 May 2018, therefore, the Javelin delivery was already a completed step in relations between the two countries.
