What did Kyiv take from its White House meeting?

Summary
A look back at the Biden–Zelensky talks and a nuclear memorandum signed a day earlier, as reported at the time.
What did Ukraine's leadership bring home from Washington? On 1 September 2021, US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met at the White House for the first time. The meeting ended with a joint statement on strategic partnership between the two countries.
The diplomacy had an economic side too. On 31 August 2021, in the United States, the state enterprise Energoatom and Westinghouse Electric signed a memorandum on building a power unit at the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant.
Two signals, one visit
The two reports describe different tracks: a political meeting at the highest level and a commercial agreement between a Ukrainian state operator and an American company. Taken together, they marked the days around the visit as a moment when the bilateral relationship was recorded on paper, in both a joint statement and a memorandum.
The joint statement was the formal outcome of the White House talks. The memorandum was a step on a specific energy project at Khmelnytskyi.
